6006 RREP Technical Support Specialist I

The Technical Support Specialist (TSS) will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic support to the Marine Corps’ Radio Reconnaissance Equipment Program (RREP). Perform a wide variety of tasks in support of Marine Corps Systems Command’s efforts to build, field, maintain and upgrade the RREP suite of equipment. The successful candidate will liaise between Marine Corps operational units, hardware/software developers, and the Project Officer; provide essential technology research to support manpack SIGINT requirements; and develop and maintain system and program related documentation including, but not limited to: various briefs, Acquisition Strategy, Life Cycle Cost Estimate, Program Baseline Acquisition Agreement and Technical Manuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel as required and directed in support of the project (25%).
Provide essential engineering analysis to support SIGINT requirements.
Provide necessary test plans, activities and results to support integration of new hardware and software with existing manpack SIGINT equipment.
Perform acceptance testing on hardware and software components on behalf of the Government.
Work closely with Government representatives to manage and verify contractual deliverables.
Perform and assist with budget analysis and research to support efforts at Marine Corps Systems Command.
Apply engineering analysis approach to cost, schedule, and technical risk assessments.
Analyze proposals, performer business plans, technology management plans, work breakdown structures, and progress reports.
Recommend courses of action and investments based on research and analysis.
Develop and maintain necessary strategies and methodology to replicate accredited software baselines across similar systems.
Create and review necessary safety evaluations prior to fielding and delivery of components to operational users.
Develop and maintain training materials for current and past equipment suites and software baselines to include but not limited to New Equipment Training, refresher training, and upgrade training.
Conduct training classes as directed at various locations and instruct multiple students on the correct implementation of current equipment.
Conduct full accountability assessments for hardware and software components located at Government or contractor owned facilities.
Provide troubleshooting guidance and failure reports on damaged or defective hardware to vendors preceding necessary repair actions.
• Create and maintain blank operating system only software loads for various computing platforms that can be made available for development efforts.
• Provide briefs to military or other government representatives on capabilities of system and program.
• Provide and support system accreditation efforts in accordance with NSA and ONI procedures and policies.
• Assemble equipment suites in accordance with documented component lists.
• Coordinate with other government programs and both government and contractor personnel to develop and test hardware and software components.
• Provide technical support to support contractors and military personnel via phone and email for current and past deployed equipment suites.
• Review draft correspondence between government agencies in support of project efforts.

EDUCATION: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science or other related Field plus one (+1) year of experience; or, a High School Diploma plus nine (+9) years of experience.

EXPERIENCE: Must have experience supporting intelligence programs for either one (+1) year (with a Bachelor’s degree) or nine (+9) years (with a High School Diploma). At least three of those years must be in support of DoD Intelligence efforts performing at least two (2) of the following;
Detailed technical studies
Conducting analysis of current and future requirements relating to design
All phases of testing and fielding
Mission effectiveness.
Must also have one (1) year experience with at least one (1) and knowledge of at least one(1) other of the following;
Logistics
Systems Engineering
Acquisition Management
Software engineering
Configuration Management

Position requires TS clearance, SCI eligible.

Experience in tactical ground SIGINT/EW operations.
