7244 - Senior Software Engineer - AMMOS Deep Space Information Services Architecture (DISA)

Required Skills: PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar discipline with 6+ years experience, MS degree in similar discipline with 8+ years experience, BS degree in similar discipline with 10+ years experience. Proven expertise within the area of information architecting and systems engineering, preferably applied within a mission ground system. Expert understanding of end-to-end mission standards, architectures and processes related to planning, uplink, navigation, downlink, ground data processing, instrument data processing and data management. Ability to interface and collaborate with technical and management teams across the entire Ground Data System (GDS). Self motivated, enthusiastic and able to work independently under minimal direction. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.Desired Skills: An understanding of Service Oriented Architectures and associated technologies, such as XML, registry service, and Java Messaging Services. Demonstrated creativity in developing innovative system-level designs.

Will: Act as the AMMOS subject matter expert in data and information architectures and facilitate the creation and maintenance of the AMMOS Information Architecture. Define, update and manage the AMMOS information model requirements, standards, and evolutionary processes necessary to create and maintain a sustainable architecture. Coordinate work with the AMMOS DISA System Engineer, AMMOS Subsystem Engineers, and DISA Chief Software Architect. Be responsible for the continued development, evolution, and population of: AMMOS data models to end-to-end data accountability models (AMMOS and DSN), DISA messaging models (message formats, topic definitions, etc) and DISA namespaces (naming conventions, etc.). Coordinate and provide technical consultation in support of related tasks using the DISA Information Architecture, including: DISA Accountability Service (Accountability Core Services and Project Data Accountability), Registry Service, Messaging Service, and Security Service, and others identified by the AMMOS DISA SE and DISA Chief Software Architect. Participate in applicable DSWAG and end-to-end data accountability working groups as appropriate. Recommend new standards or modifications to existing AMMOS domain standards wherever research and evaluation indicates general applicability of industry technology and standards to the Space Mission Systems community. Report programmatically to the MGSS Chief Engineer and administratively to the Supervisor of the Mission Data Management and Data Systems Group (315H).
