AEROSPACE TEST ENGINEER NEEDED

Basic Function

This job involves development of test documents (plans and procedures), test fixtures and equipment, coordinating and conducting tests for product qualification and or verification. Testing includes life cycle testing, environmental, electrical, shock and vibration all in accordance with customer specifications, engineering specifications, FAA and D0160 requirements. Test results must be analyzed, corrective action taken on failures, and final test reports written. Effort requires interfacing with engineering, product management, quality assurance, outside test labs and governmental agencies. If outside test labs are used, obtain quotes, place purchase orders, schedule and monitor tests to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Essential Functions

- Prepare and document test plans procedures and test reports.
- Design and fabricate necessary test fixtures.
- Schedule, conduct and monitor tests.
- Coordinate necessary activities to perform tests at an outside lab.
- Troubleshoot product and equipment malfunctions and make necessary corrections in order to complete tests.
- Perform failure analysis and report findings to design engineering and the customer.
- Procure necessary supplies and support equipment to perform tests.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and in a timely manner.


Qualifications


Knowledge:. BS degree in Engineering. Graduate work in Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of FAA and D0160 requirements for product qualification.  Experience with Solidworks.

Experience: 8+ years of Test Engineering experience preferably in the aviation industry. Strong background with testing electro-mechanical products which includes environmental testing (temperature, humidity, altitude, etc.), electrical (EMI, ESD, magnetic effects, voltage spike, etc.) and shock and vibration.
