AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS

Mechanically disassembles, cleans, inspects, assembles, and tests landing gears and/or components. Requires assembly of components in accordance with manuals and agency requirements.  Works from complex and detailed assembly blueprints, technical drawings, and overhaul manuals. Functionally tests all assemblies to ensure workability of completed items.

 

An Aviation Maintenance Technician may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.

Essential Duties:

 

May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

 

1.

Disassemble landing gears and/or components in accordance with Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM).

2.

Clean and identify parts, as necessary.

3

Troubleshooting and analyzing, as necessary.

4.

Perform general and/or detailed inspection of parts and assemblies, as required.

5.

Accurately complete Bill of Materials and disposition of parts.

6.

Perform repair of parts, as required.

7.

Able to correctly read and follow blueprints, component maintenance manuals, illustrated parts lists, and related technical materials.

8.

Lay out assemblies with Bills of Material as a guide and make a shortage list.

9.

Assemble and test all landing gear assemblies and/or component parts.

10.

Functionally test all assemblies to ensure serviceability of completed units.

11.

Work from complex blueprints, verbal, and written instructions with minimal supervision.

12.

Prepare documentation, as necessary.

Overtime may be required per business needs.

Safety: Must adhere to all safety requirements per company policies.

Maintain and follow FOD awareness.

e.

Adhere to the company’s attendance policy, arriving to the work station on time.

Practice housekeeping duties in the assigned work area.

g.

Practice, participate, and support continuous improvement programs.

h.

Maintain supplies in the assigned work area.

i.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment in the assigned work area.  Notify the Dept. Supervisor / Manager of any required repair orders.

j.

Operate and use equipment as needed within the department.

k.

Practice accurate data collection.

l.

Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

 

ITAR/CFR:

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

 

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure:

A & P Certification preferred.

 

Experience:

Minimum one (1) year of experience working with landing gear and/or component parts.

 

Other:

Must possess personal hand tools.
