Accounting Analyst / Senior Accountant

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW) is the largest operator of B747 cargo aircraft in the world and the third largest cargo airline, behind FedEx and UPS. Both Atlas and Polar also operate air freight charter flights for commercial customers as well as for the U.S. Air Force’s Air Mobility Command.

 

We are currently seeking an Accounting Analyst to work at our Purchase, NY headquarters.

 

Position Summary:  Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual account roll forward schedules for various balance sheet accounts for Atlas Air and Polar Air.

 

Major Job Accountabilities:

§ Work with inter-company reconciliation’s involving multiple companies

§ Ability to work with outside auditors, Atlas accounting, finance and treasury personnel

§ Available to work extended hours as needed

§ Must have excellent PC skills (Excel, Word)

§ Support budgeting and forecasting activity

§ Experience researching accounting issues

§ Special projects as directed.



 

Qualifications: 

§ Experience working with public reporting companies

§ Experience working with Fixed Assets, Leases and Debt

§ Minimum education requirements – Bachelor’s in Accounting (MBA a plus)

§ Must be able to work overtime.

§ CPA a plus (with Big 4 experience)

§ JD Edwards software experience helpful

§ Airline experience a plus
