Advanced Purchasing Manager

StaffingMaster Inc., a full service Executive Recruiting firm, is assisting our client in the search for an Advanced Purchasing Manager. Our client is a Fortune 100 organization, experiencing tremendous growth and opportunity.  This position is located in the Galesburg, MI area.

Position Responsibilities:

 

A qualified candidate will driver for change and continuous improvement within the supply chain and new product development areas working with Purchasing Managers/Supply Chain Managers and new product development program teams during the new product development process focusing on:

-  Identifying and developing potential emerging technology partners for hybrid electric vehicle components (e.g. motors, inverters, battery cell technologies, etc.).
-  Facilitating SCM’s and key suppliers’ engagement in the new product development process for hybrid electric vehicle technologies.
-  Project Management and successful program launch utilizing a systematic product development process (Pro-Launch) and sourcing process.
-  Conducting independent financial and business analysis in support of TCO’s Make vs. Buy process.
- Creating and maintaining Supplier Cost Driver/Pricing Models for various commodities.
-  Performing APQP (DFMEA, PFMEA, FTA), cost and quality audits at suppliers and/or internal plants as well as conducting competitive analysis of competitive products.
- Utilizing financial models to develop Program cost targets and to manage cost changes throughout the development cycle.
- Development of Global commodity/sourcing strategies for new technologies.

 

Position Qualifications:

· Ability to establish cost models by commodity via a firm understanding of supplier best practice and business models.

· Previous experience leading/facilitating APQP (DFMEA, PFMEA, FTA, etc.) audits for a major development project.

· Demonstrated financial/cost accounting skills.

· Experienced in Six Sigma methodology, SPC, Metrology, 8D structured problem solving.

· Product Design and/or Manufacturing Experience in one or more of the following areas: Hybrid Electric Vehicles and/or Components, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Products, and/or Emissions After-Treatment Products.

· 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.  Exposure and knowledge of a new product development process (i.e. - Pro-Launch), manufacturing processing, and parts procurement a plus.

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
