Aerospace Engineer (RENO)

Aerospace Engineer/Aeronautical Engineer(AE) performs design and aerodynamics/performance analysis for military aircraft modification programs.

Responsibilities include:

Analyzing aerodynamics impacts due to external modifications, impacts to systems/subsystems from internal modifications, developing mission profiles based on customer requirements.

Modeling/calculating mission performance data including takeoff and landing data, and enroute performance.

Analyzing configurations using computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

Will use background in dynamics, control, and aircraft operations to contribute to a number of projects in the areas of structural modification, subsystem integration, sensor systems and similar configuration changes to existing airframes.

Expected to participate in the engineering development and support of new/modified/reengineered subsytems/products within our proven phased development process, including modeling, proof of concept, and implementation, and fielded system support.

Performs stress analysis on aircraft (metallic and composite) structures.

Duties may include stress analysis using both classical and finite element modeling (FEM) analysis tools, static and fatigue test predictions and regressions, and certification/qualification report preparation.

Additional tasks may include support for wind tunnel, and aerodynamics coordination with multi-discipline teams including modification teams, logistics support, and other engineering disciplines.
