Job Responsibilities include:
- Conduct fluid dynamic and heat transfer design and analysis of liquid rockets and/or hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems (ramjets/scramjets).
- Develop fluid flow models using Computational Fluid Dynamics codes or other analytical tools.
- Develop thermal models to design and analyze cooled and un-cooled engine components.
- Design, test and analyze data from component rigs to supplement or validate analytical models.
- Support planning and testing of engines (ground and flight) and analyze the test data.
- Interface with members of process and product teams, management, and technical staff to design and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives.


- B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, M.S. preferred, with a strong background in compressible flow, combustion and heat transfer.

- Minimum five years experience with emphasis on fluid and thermal sciences (gas dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, numerical methods preferred).
- Candidate must possess good understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer analysis and analytical modeling techniques.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis of reacting flows is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Experience in FORTRAN, Matlab and MS Office products is essential
- Candidate must be well motivated, a self-starter and proactive, and have good interpersonal skills to work effectively in team environments.


- Preferred candidate shall have a minimum of 2 years aerothermal analysis experience in liquid rockets and/or hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems.
- DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required (US citizens only).
- Occasional travel may be required
