' Develop and manage design and development programs for propeller systems for manned and unmanned aircraft ' Apply propeller design and development protocols, processes, best practices and lessons learned to new designs and component improvement programs for legacy aircraft' Review hardware failure data and plan and coordinate design activities to improve performance, durability and/or reliability to meet customer requirements.' Act as the point of contact and technical expert in dealing with contractors and other government activities on the technical aspect of all matters pertaining to the Research and Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) efforts of assigned propeller system programs. ' In the majority of instances, the incumbent will be personally required to initiate and complete tasks involving the disciplines of engineering mechanics, material science, and relevant analytical techniques. ' The incumbent must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college and have a minimum of three years of professional experience appropriate to this position' A thorough working knowledge in mechanical engineering principles is required with specific skills and training required by experience in aircraft related RDT&E of propeller systems. ' Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering' Five to ten years experience in aviation propeller design or test and evaluation' Ability to generate propeller system RDT&E requirements for Naval Aircraft' Ability to review and/or generate propeller system design specifications and/or validation plans.'
