Assistant Security Specialists

Position Description:To provide support to the Program Manager (PM) and Security Manager in the day-to-day implementation and compliance of security requirements for Special Access Program/Special Access Required (SAP/SAR) Programs, and to learn and assist in the implementation of policies and procedures for all security disciplines as they pertain to classified Programs. Responsible for using and managing clearance and access data bases (JPAS/AFADS). Responsible for the generation and administration of program access requests. Responsible for tracking items submitted for review and ensuring all items are returned in a timely manner. Responsible for the opening and closing of program areas. Responsible for the destruction of sensitive and program classified materials. Assist in security files maintenance. Assist in the maintenance of the physical security standards within the program area to include changing safe and door combinations. Assist in document control and accountability. Assist in the development of security education and training programs designed and tailored to meet the specific security needs of the program. Assist in the review of classified material for release. Assist in mail runs, classified destruction, processing of visit requests, out processing individuals, opening and closing, changing safe combinations, and checking/testing alarm points. Implement appropriate safeguards for the protection of classified material; execute secure FAX transmissions, completion/maintenance of FAX logs, and managing suspenses. Prepare and process both hardcopy and automated visit certifications. Maintain the physical security of program area to include opening and/or closings of controlled areas at start/end of the duty day (0630 hours-1830 hours). Other security related duties as assigned.

Must have the following:

 

1.

United States Citizenship

 

2.

Educational: 1+ Years with HS.

 

3.

Functional: One-year work experience in security related field required. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written required. Must be organized and have strong attention to detail skills.

 

4.

Completion of two DSS Academy on-line career development courses. Familiar with DoD 5200.1-R and 5200.2R as supplemented. NISPOM/NISPOM Supplement. DoD 5105.21-M-1.

Prefer to have the following:

 

1.

Software: Proficient in Microsoft Project, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and web-based applications desired. Associates Degree in a related discipline strongly encouraged.

 

2.

Experience in a SAP/SAR and Air Force Acquisition Systems Programs desired.

 

3.

Knowledge of JAFANs 6/3, 6/9, and JPAS desired.
