Summary
The Associate Product Manager is responsible for supporting and developing the web properties managed by BGA (Business General Aviation) Internet programs. Specifically, this position will be working with the product management team on three websites – a retail site, an enterprise level site, and a social community/networking site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works with functional departments (Sales & Service, Marketing, Business Development, Internet Development, Distribution, Operations, Finance and Legal) to analyze the marketplace, customers and competitors to define requirements and priorities.Assists in the development and support of the web properties through ongoing business analysis; identifies customer experience improvements; identifies customer communication improvements; communicates business needs to technology; collaborates with IT to resolve technical issues; and assists in the development of a short/long-term feature roadmap. Participates in writing comprehensive product documents: business cases, flowcharts, use case documents, requirements documents, interactive design documents/wireframes, functional specifications, schedules, project plans and budgets.Supports the merchandising of the online store by assisting in the development of the short/long-term merchandising plans to meet financial goals; assists in the development of the product marketing plan; identifies product expansion opportunities; executes product expansions from the web through distribution; and identifies courses of action based upon metrics and competitive analysis.Supports online advertising business by assisting with advertising optimization, manage trafficking requests, and performs general customer service. Identifies new advertising offerings based Web metrics reports.Works with cross-functional teams, both internal and external, to execute product plans on time, scope, and budget. Effectively manages multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift often.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 – 4 years of project management, product management, or marketing experience, and minimum 1 year in web site development or management.Ability to collaborate with all functions (order management, customer service, tech support, accounts receivable, IT, marketing, product development) to promote process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.Entrepreneurial attitude with strong analytical skills (ownership mentality).Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional team environments.Must possess a unique blend of business analysis, creative and technical savvy.Functional knowledge of Internet applications with a understanding of how web sites are built. Self-confidence, perceived as an opinion leader.Must have the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with various areas of the company including sales/product managers, creative, finance, and marketing, understanding and interpreting stakeholder needs and priorities.Willingness to learn new ideas and new concepts, as they relate to website development and aviation. Proficiency in the Internet, all Microsoft applications.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
