Auditor, Supplier Quality

The Pratt & Whitney Supplier Auditor Group is responsible for reviewing the Quality Systems of Pratt & Whitney's suppliers to determine compliance to the AS9100 standard as well as UTC's additional quality requirements defined in ASQR-01. Members of the Supplier Auditor Group recommend new suppliers to be added to the Pratt & Whitney Qualified Supplier List and monitor continuing compliance to Purchase Order requirements. They also play a critical role in assuring that relentless root cause and correctives actions are implemented when noncompliances are found, thus ensuring the quality of parts delivered to Pratt and Whitney and their customers. The successful candidate will conduct quality system audits of Pratt & Whitney suppliers, both domestic and international. The candidate will represent Pratt & Whitney at various subcontractors' facilities in a professional manner and at times may lead multi-functional audit teams. The ideal candidate shall possess: the ability to assess critical processes and determine adequacy to requirements; detailed knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality processes and requirements; the ability to read and comprehend Engineering Drawings, Quality Assurance requirements, various work instructions, Quality Manuals/ procedures and other detailed instructions; flexible and organized work habits; the ability to adapt to different cultural work ethics and languages. Time management skills are essential to coordinate the audit and team members and follow up. Candidate will present audit conclusions and recommendations in a detailed final audit report.

Bachelor's degree in related field.

RAB AS9100 Lead Auditor certification a plus. Applicant must be willing to pursue certification if not currently held. Knowledge and application of continuous improvement tools is required to determine if Supplier corrective actions address the true root cause of problems and that the proper actions are being taken to Mistake Proof processes. A minimum two years of internal or external aerospace quality auditing experience preferred. Manufacturing and supplier base experience is also desirable but comparable experience will also be considered. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership ability is critical. Excellent oral, written and organizational skills are required. Ability to work independently and to adjust to a changing environment is a must. Knowledge of Space Shuttle Main Engine & Rocketdyne Program requirements is a plus.

Position requires frequent travel (domestic and international), up to 70%.
