Aviation Quality Assurance Inspector - Addison, Texas

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Addison, Texas -- The Quality Assurance Inspector will perform inspection and assure correct documentation of maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair and modification in accordance with appropriate maintenance manuals and Repair Station Manual to ensure airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and alterations prior to return to service.  He/she may perform maintenance as necessary. The QA Inspector will perform periodic inspections of aircraft, engines, parts and components, precision tools and equipment, and other materials in accordance with applicable FAR’s and the manufacturer’s maintenance manual. Inspect new, repaired and rebuilt parts and/or components for evidence of physical damage, quantity and conformity documentation upon receipt. Perform hidden damage inspections. Prepare and submit written documentation on technical descriptions and reports of non-airworthy, non-conforming or abnormal items. Inspect aircraft maintenance records to determine accurately the current status of aircraft and/or components. Communicate with support personnel to resolve inspection concerns, provide information and detail, and coordinate inspections accordingly. Perform research involving technical publications, drawings, blueprints, schematics, historical files and maintenance records. Inspect precision tools and equipment as required by location. Report to the appropriate supervisor or area lead for reassignment when all on-aircraft inspection duties have been completed. Oversee and/or perform inspection related activities including dimensional check of parts. Perform walk-around inspection of aircraft prior to return to service. Must comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures included but not limited to Safety Manual Section 1225.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

The Quality Assurance Inspector must meet the minimum required qualifications for intermediate level of applicable job classification. A&P Certificate. A minimum of 5 to 6 years combined aircraft (commercial or business) experience. Must be able to demonstrate familiarity with inspection techniques, practices, tolerances, limitations, and procedures necessary to determine the airworthiness of an article. Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals. Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, FAR/JAR inspection procedures, foreign government, inspection procedures as applicable, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Maintenance Manuals, Airline Transport Association (ATA) codes and knowledge of Repair Station Systems and Federal Aviation Regulations. Thorough knowledge of business/commercial aircraft inspection programs including but not limited to final closeout procedures, engine installations and hidden damage inspection. Thorough knowledge of business/commercial aircraft maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alteration as related to inspection buy-off. Must have the skills to measure using a variety of precision measuring devices, skill to use basic hand tools necessary to perform job and interpret and operate inspection/test equipment. Must have the ability to train employees in the performance of duties in area(s) of qualification.
