Benefits Coordinator- Temporary Position

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW) is the largest operator of B747 cargo aircraft in the world and the third largest cargo airline, behind FedEx and UPS. Both Atlas and Polar also operate air freight charter flights for commercial customers as well as for the U.S. Air Force’s Air Mobility Command.

Position Summary:  Provide customer service to employees; interface with insurance and investment carriers regarding enrollment and changes; coordinate and process disability and workers compensation claims for all employees (including pilots); assists with monthly billing process.

Major Job Accountabilities:

§ Coordinate and process all phases of the Health and Welfare Plan: enrollments, cancellations, changes, and terminations, interfacing with insurance carriers by phone as necessary

§ Send COBRA information to COBRA administrators about terminating or retiring employees and any affected family members who qualify for COBRA

§ Qualifies Event Changes for Medical and Dental plan, FSA, and COBRA enrollments

§ Designs, develops, and implements Employee discount program

§ Coordinate and process short-term and long-term disability claims for all employees and Loss of License claims for pilots

§ Coordinate and follow-up on workers’ compensation claims with insurance carrier

§ Maintain OSHA logs

§ Special projects may be assigned

 

Qualifications: 

§ College graduate preferred

§ Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion

§ Must be able to learn and comply with federal and state laws and regulations (i.e. HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.) as well as company policies pertaining to benefits, and work within the requirements set by these regulations

§ Strong customer service skills; provide support and assistance on all phases of employee benefits

§ Strong organizational, administrative, and data management skills

§ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point

§ Excellent written and oral communications skills
