The Defense Energy Support Center (DESC) is procuring operations, maintenance, quality surveillance, inventory control, accounting, security, safety, and environmental protection for aviation and ground fuel bulk storage operations on Air Force (AF) installations throughout the United States.
We are seeking qualified individuals in each of the following
areas:
Terminal Superintendents: At least Six (6) years of specialized experience in fuel terminal operations including receiving, storing and shipping petroleum products via tank truck, pipeline, rail, and tanker/barge as appropriate to the facilities' receiving capability.
This experience shall include operation and maintenance of a bulk petroleum storage terminal; receiving and shipping of petroleum products via pipeline, barges, tankers, and tank trucks; and maintenance and repair of bulk petroleum storage terminals.
Supervisory experience in fuel terminal operations with emphasis in terminal maintenance, operations and environmental compliance is a requirement for this position.
Have expertise in spill cleanup procedures, prevention and control measures, and related equipment operation and maintenance.
Have practical experience in basic design and layout of petroleum facilities, component makeup, characteristics of fuel storage and distribution systems, and the ability to read and understand base blueprints, and system specifications.
Education may be substituted for all specialized experience if appropriate.
Assistant Superintendents: Minimum of three (3) years experience in fuel terminal operations engaged in receiving, storing and shipping petroleum products via tank truck, pipeline and tanker/barge is required.
This experience shall include operation and maintenance of a bulk petroleum storage terminal; receiving and shipping of petroleum products via pipeline, barges, tankers, and tank trucks; and maintenance and repair of bulk petroleum storage terminals.
At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in fuel terminal operations with emphasis in terminal maintenance, operations and environmental compliance is a requirement for this position.
Fuel Distribution System Mechanics: At least five (5) years experience and fully qualified to operate to complete the following
tasks: Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair fuel distribution systems (i.e., fuel storage tanks and pipeline systems, direct refueling systems, as well as mechanical, electrical, and computer connected/driven components).
Capable of detecting and correcting system component malfunctions, leaks, misalignments, and other adjustment issues.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled fuel system maintenance.
Capable of removing, repairing and replacing major system components, have a basic knowledge of automatic tank components and gauging systems, high/low level alarms, cathodic protection, and oily water waste systems.
Be able to implement cyclic maintenance programs and safety programs relating to all aspects of facility operation.
