We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager (Competitive Intelligence). The CI Manager will coordinate AAI CI activities of the CI team and be responsible for its output. This will involve working closely with senior management to identify the CI needs of the company, developing CI skills in other AAI personnel, contributing to the quality of CI output, presenting intelligence to management and business development personnel and optimizing the information-gathering and analytical capacity of the company as a whole.

 

Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree with an MBA preferred. At least eight years of experience in competitive analysis in the defense industry is required. Experience with marketing is also important. Military intelligence experience would be a plus. Proven leadership skills: person must be an excellent motivator, with a high energy level. Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience working with management and business development personnel, and with making presentations. Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. MS Access skill preferred.

 

The CI manager must have the skills required to oversee and be responsible for AAI’s CI function. Working with management, product development, and business development teams, set objectives for intelligence gathering, and facilitate the creation of plans for the collection and analysis of data. Develop the CI training program, maintain training material, and present training sessions. Ensure all appropriate staff are aware of the CI function. Maintain and train CI ethics. Working with AAI’s Ethics Officer, ensure that all intelligence and information-gathering activities are undertaken using ethical and legal techniques. Assess the resource requirements of the CI function and ensure the resources necessary to gather and analyze data. Procure equipment, hire and train staff, and retain consultants as required, within the group's budget. Communicate with other departments to ensure an effective flow of CI information. Manage the CI budget. Take responsibility for the CI function’s output. Make regular presentations of findings to management and business development personnel. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a government security clearance.
