Business Team Leader Summary:· Business Team Leader for select programs within a FAA certified repair/overhaul facility.· Leads a multi-disciplinary, customer-focused business team to accomplish program objectives through coordinated division efforts. Serves as a liaison for customer-to-company interface on program performance.  · Leads operations teams to accomplish production, operations support, and quality objectives through a centralized function or through the coordinated efforts of multiple teams within the unit.  · Establishes and implements tactical and operational plans to achieve facility and division objectives. ·  Highly visible position in high-performing facility; Role designed for developing future senior leaders. Scope/Supervision and interaction:· Has primary responsibilities for resource allocation (e.g. capital equipment, staffing, material and inventory control, facilities, etc.) having an identifiable impact on production cost, quality and performance to schedule.  · Frequent contact with customers and across internal teams concerning production priorities, interdependencies, and schedules.· Frequent contact with customers and across internal departments concerning program and proposal efforts.  Has primary responsibility for program status reporting to identify and resolve potential problems and insure contract and schedule commitments are met. May be directly involved in the development of major proposals and contracts and participate in negotiations with impact to sales volume and earnings.· Broad responsibility for capturing/coordinating new business activities jointly with GTFSD aftermarket, GTFSD engineering and CSO representatives. Essential Functions:·Lead manufacturing operations of several high-volume programs to meet customer expectations.· Identify opportunities to work jointly with airlines or engine service shops to evaluate engine performance relating to fuel nozzles.· Analyze new market opportunities.· Identify opportunities for existing products to meet targeted growth plans in conjunction with engineering and operations. · Establish time line and goals for achieving division’s profitable growth goals.· Communicate with customers and develops strategies and programs.· Coordinate development and implementation of product improvements in market segments.· Develop and maintain high level of customer/market knowledge including technologies and products to enable the division to move forward to meet market expectations.· Plan, prepare and monitor work progress of team.  Implement corrective action to meet performance measures and commitments.· Ensure proper assembly and testing in accordance with all current specs, procedures and documents.· Provide guidance and interact with other teams/team leaders toward solving work-related problems and the application of acceptance performance and quality standards.· Promote and drive lean concepts.  Create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals, including participation in continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.·Create and maintain high-performance teams by effectively selecting, training and developing team members, as well as acting as a role model.·Explain and support company policies and procedures. Qualifications:· BS degree required, preferably in an engineering discipline.  MBA is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically through eight or more years of related experience.· Must be able to attain FAA Repairman’s certificate within an appropriate timeframe.· Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and written/verbal communication skills.  Strong leadership and team building skills.· Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.  Capable of assessing and developing individual team skills and capabilities.  Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.  Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.· Thorough knowledge of and background in controlling development and/or mature programs.· Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.· Effective presentation and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with customers.· Thorough understanding of business and financial plans and controls, contractual terms and regulatory requirements.· Understanding and knowledge of Lean principles and a track record of successfully championing continuous improvement.· Microsoft Office products and Lotus Notes· Pass comprehensive eye exam.· Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills.· Must be open to relocation for future promotional opportunities.
