Job Functions/Work Summary
This position has the responsibility of Strategically and Operationally
matching Eclipse Aviations business, technical, manufacturing, quality,
product support and logistics needs with world
class Suppliers to
support Eclipses business plans and ensure a continuity of supply for
aircraft structural and system parts. The SCM (Supply Chain Management)
Buyer will be the point of contact with the
Supplier, manage ongoing
costs and cost reduction activities, evaluate Supplier planning and
capacity, lead Supplier Program Management Reviews (SPMR), and
evaluate Supplier performance and quarterly business reviews. The SCM
Buyer may also be involved in new Supplier selection, contract
negotiation, qualification and performance activities.
The successful candidate should have experience and strong aptitude for
dealing with and resolving commercial business issues, a basic
familiarity with supply chain management
principles, practices and tools
including, but not limited to MRP (SAP experience preferred), document
management systems and demand flow, experience in manufacturing

processes related to fabricated metal parts,
and have strategic supplier
relationship management experience. The successful candidate will be
assertive, and can interject and intercede to force necessary work and
will have the flexibility to effect change to
reach the Eclipse objectives. The
candidate will have strong communication skills (both written and oral)
with all levels of management both internally and externally, be a self
starter and work with minimal supervision in an
ambiguous work environment,
be able to successfully mange and juggle multiple job assignments as
well as prioritize them to assure all assignments are completed on
schedule. The SCM Buyer should have skill in
process mapping and continuous
improvement, be available and willing to travel, including overseas if
required, and understand fiduciary responsibility and limitations
associated with the position.
In addition, the SCM Buyer will stay current with industry trends,
technology and Suppliers, and should be prepared to recommend and
initiate proactive recommendations and solutions
such as:
- Monitor industry and Supplier financial health and ownership, and
initiate mitigation plans as necessary
- Based on industry technology and trends, provide recommendations on
products and technology to be utilized in the aircraft designs
- Observe geo-political developments around the world, recommend and
initiate proactive mitigation plans as necessary
