Defense & Space Valfacs is the provider of real time simulation test facilities for the CEV Orion Program.This software / systems engineering position with the D & S Valfacs is responsible for developing, and integrating real time aircraft and space vehicle software architectures, simulation models, and I/O software drivers, using MATLAB/Simulink, "C", "C++", or FORTRAN on UNIX and Linux platforms. Additional responsibilities include communication and supporting technical discussions with NASA, government agencies, and space vehicle developers. This engineering position reports to engineering management and is expect to work well in a teaming environment with other engineering staff and assist/train engineering personnel as needed.Basic Qualifications:- BSEE or BSCE 4 year Bachelor's Degree- Must be US citizen- 8+ years experience software / simulation model development on real time UNIX and Linux test systems- Proven experience in designing and developing software and system architectures on real time UNIX and Linux test systems- Fluent in MATLAB/Simulink, C, C++, FORTRAN on UNIX and Linux systems- Experience with multiple avionics platforms, architectures, and protocols on space vehicles, large commercial aircraft and regional aircraft- Firm knowledge of MS Office applications Additional Qualifications:- Comfortable as a technical leader and as team member- Excellent communication and organizational behaviors- Experience reporting to stakeholders and management, sound presentation skills- Excellent customer service and support behaviors- Works well with multi-site resources- 3Views trained / experience is a plus- DFSS Six Sigma certification is a plus
