The Company

Our client is a world class manufacturer of propulsion systems for both human-rated and unmanned space launch vehicles, strategic missiles, global strike missiles, and missile defense interceptors. Our client serves both commercial and governmental customers, including prime contractors, NASA, and the US Military.

 

The Position

The Lead Aerospace Engineer will responsible for all aspects of the upper stage from development through flight.  The Engineer will ensure that the upper stage meets performance, cost, and schedule requirements, as well as develop and assure compliance to launch vehicle interface requirements.  This Engineer will represent all phases of the upper stage in the Launch Vehicle IPT including:  WBS, IMP and IMS definition, updating and evaluation, support of vehicle-level engineering, stage specification, ICD interfaces within the AAPS, performance of the stage within flight vehicle, and state assembly, thermal analysis and structural analysis.  The Lead Aerospace Engineer will also be responsible for AAPS interface to the avionics structure, stage level verification planning and testing, as well as mass property determination and tracking, Range Safety support, and risk definition and tracking.

 

Candidate Qualifications

The candidate must have a BS in Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of technical-related aerospace experience.  In addition, candidates should have the following:Secret Security Clearance, or ability to obtain clearanceA minimum of 5 years of project or systems engineeringAbility to communicate and present technical informationStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project

 

Compensation

The compensation range is from $95K up to $120K+ (depending on level of experience), plus annual performance merit process and annual performance schedule.  In addition, the client offers a stimulating environment and an excellent opportunity to make a difference.
