COMPUTER SCIENTIST
Computer Scientist IV (COTS team) Must possess the education and experience of the Computer Scientist III. This is a working level position that applies an intermediate-level of Engineering Software technology and concepts to the specific technical tasks. Requires the individual be proficient with the skills needed to review software development methodology, process development, integration, and testing to improve the reliability of software and ensure minimum life cycle costs. An intermediate understanding of software development, integration and testing to provide support to a full spectrum of Software Engineering duties: with respect to software design and development, integration and test of real time, piloted aircraft simulators as well as large, distributed interactive client-server based multi-media, multi-spectral databases. Expertise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of alternatives. Must be familiar with development in Browser technology for large database environments, with interfaces to NT, Unix or Solaris based clients. The position requires the ability to design object oriented database systems with distributed modeling and simulation facilities over secure networks; requires the ability to support design and tradeoff for database representations of aircraft, propulsion and electronic warfare functions and subsystems; requires the ability to develop database systems to be used for distributed work groups and processes in a multiuser environment. Must be familiar with development/operating environment utilizing high-speed networks. Requirements: BS Degree with 7 - 10 years experience or 5 - 7 years with a MS degree.Directly interacts with the customer to analyze current business processes, determine business process improvement requirements, and propose streamlined business processes. Interview process end users to determine aggregate requirements and documents the findings. Produce flow charts of business processes to be used to develop automated business solutions using Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products (e.g. enterprise implementations of BMC Remedy Service Manager™, BMC Configuration Management™, BMC Atrium™, OpenText™, LiveLink™, Livelink for Libraries™, BRIO™, MS SQL, .ASP, and ORACLE products). Perform activity based costing analysis to determine where the greatest cost inefficiencies appear within the process being analyzed. Establish implementation roadmaps, and assist in implementing approved improvements. Through interaction with the customer determine the related metrics that must result from the process. Has working knowledge of DoD instructions, Air Force Standards/Instructions, and organizational structure as related to business process requirements. Assist with providing training to personnel on management policies, processes, improvements, techniques, implementation steps and automation tools. Train personnel in process improvement techniques and implementation steps. Will perform duties as assigned on the COTS enabling Technologies subtask. Will be required to work closely with the Database Designer/Developers and/or Systems Administrators when it is determined that the process can be best improved, and process completion times lowered, by creating an automated solution. Provide input to a monthly status report, which is provided to the government task focal point. Requires a working knowledge of business process improvement strategies, including an understanding of metric charts, their use and development. Knowledge of Livelink from OpenText, Microsoft Sharepoint and BMC Remedy is required. A limited knowledge of programming is helpful in order to assist and better understand the development team. Communication skills, including verbal and written, are extremely important. Must have process analysis/improvement experience. The person in this position is expected to represent themselves in a professional manner that reflects highly on the IPT and on TYBRIN Corporation. U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
