Chemical Test Engineer

The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in the areas of aeropropulsion and space propulsion and power test facilities. TFOME management is dedicated to excellence in service and to providing outstanding technical opportunities for our employees. We specialize in providing unique products and services to NASA Glenn. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team that will be providing facility and test engineering support as part of the TFOMEcontract at NASA Glenn Research.

 
The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting upcoming tests here at the NASA  Glenn Research Center and providing technical expertise in the installation, programming, setup, maintaining, and troubleshooting of PC/Unix bases systems, gas chromatographs, gas analyzers, mechanical systems, data acquisition systems, electronic and instrumentation systems as they relate to research test programs and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). 

 

The ideal candidates will have a B.S. or MS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of NASA’s Space and Aero test facilities and/or related test engineering experience a plus! Communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.  Because of the nature of the testing, some shift and/or weekend work might occasionally need to be accommodated.
