Chief Financial Officer

My client, a multi- million dollar public company located North of Boston, is successfully engineering a dramatic transformation from a contract R&D company to one that offers a range of innovative products for detecting explosives and other dangerous substances for the growing homeland security market. In the last year, there has been dramatic progress in this process, which includes: 

 Recruiting additions to the outstanding management team from top companies in the industry, Selling Divisions that are not core and integral to its business strategy, Buying companies and technologies that build the breadth and depth of its core technologies, andLicensing technologies for better positioning.

 

The company is now recruiting an experienced CFO to build on the momentum it has established.  The CFO will report to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and help him meet the strategic challenges, including an ambitious program of mergers and acquisitions, managing cash needs as a result of company and sales growth, recruiting, training and otherwise managing human resources, and enhancing investor relations.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

·  Been a CFO in a public company for at least 5 years and have all of the expected related skills and experiences, including in-depth familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

·  Experience in a company whose primary business was selling products to US and overseas government agencies.  We will also consider other candidates, but our minimal qualification is experience in companies who sell to government agencies and understand the way governments do business. 

·  Confidence and a strategic, proactive style: the willingness to immerse self in a business that will be dependent on his or her own performance for its ultimate success.

 

The candidate will receive base salary, cash and other incentives based on individual performance/contributions and company performance measured by its ability to meet goals, and stock options designed to provide significant upside based on company success.
