IIS Communications Intern Job Description: This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on Communications experience in a business environment. The candidate selected for this position will provide support to the Communications manager at the Aurora, Colo., site. This position is planned as part-time, year round during the academic year and summer months. Responsibilities will include: Gathering information and proofing the weekly newsletter Helping with Communications events including meetings and broadcasts Conducting research to help with new Communications projects Assist with answering phones, mailings, faxing, filing and printing projects Provide support with audiovisual and teleconference setup Tracking and following up with customer requests Assist with additional duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with a minimum class standing of Sophomore, majoring in Communications, Public Relations or related disciplines. Minimum Overall GPA requirement: 3.0 Experience using Microsoft Office tools Demonstrated communication and writing skills through coursework and/or experience US CITIZENSHIP WITH THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN AN SSBI SECURITY CLEARANCE. Desired Qualifications: Self starter with initiative that is prepared to learn Excellent communication and writing skills Knowledge of Associated Press style The ability to interact with all levels of management and customers Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment The ability to learn and use internal tools Education Requirements: Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program; minimum class standing - Sophomore.
