Communications Specialist, Global Engine Centers

The Global Engine Services (GES) Communications Specialist will plan and execute a number of strategic initiatives to improve employee fulfillment and support the Pratt & Whitney roadmap goal of increasing management communications favorability by seven points by 2009.

Key responsibilities include:

- Create and implement a comprehensive communications plan that supports the organization's one- and five-year roadmaps, annual sales plan, key messages, EH&S, ACE (continuous improvement) and employee fulfillment goals
- Lead communications initiatives to improve hourly employee communications within Connecticut and at worldwide units
- Lead proactive, two-way, measured employee communications initiatives throughout GES where the effectiveness of the activities are tracked and measured
- Establish and lead a communications network throughout GES
- Develop and ensure the consistent use of communications standard work
- Coordinate GES special events, celebrations, tours and communications.
- Own the GES content on PW's internal and external websites.
- Develop presentations and executive communications. Create feedback surveys with the "ztelligence" web tool and analyze results.
- Provide internal and external communications counsel and services to GES executives
- Align GES communications with PW policies, branding, advertising, minimum standards, messages, and initiatives, including EH&S and Quality.
- Provide Group Communications information that communicates GES metrics, goals, and performance.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure effective communication of organizational and executive announcements, and employee fulfillment team initiatives
- Support the overall communications needs of the GES VP and his direct reports.
- Coordinate GES executive offsite and management meetings.
- Coordinate customer events and gifts
- Support GMs' communications needs
- Create Communications toolkits for first line supervisors.



BS in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field preferred. MBA or MS business management or communications desired.

6-10+ years communications experience with proven written, verbal and electronic skills required. Eight to ten years management experience with proven strategic thinking, business, and media relations skills required. Proficient knowledge and use of continuous improvement tools desired. Excellent presentation and organizational skills.

Position reports to GSP Communications Manager with a dotted line to GES VP.
