Configuration Management Specialist

Length of Assignment:  6-12 MonthsRequired:MA/MS degree in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline with 4 years experience, or a BA/BS degree with 6 years experience or PHD 2 years experience.  Significant process engineering experience in a lead position performing a combination of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and/or Hardware Configuration Management, Data Management, and Information Technology (IT) on large projects.  Requires an extensive CM background in CM principles stemming from EIA-649A and ISO 10007.  Must have direct experience automating and implementing processes as well as using or administering Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools.  Must have proven record for managing and administering software and document repositories. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to interface with both the user and management communities of different organizations. Demonstrated ability to write, read and review technical documentation.Desired:Knowledge and experience in DSN operations, with emphasis on configuration control, change boards, hardware/software transfers, and modification kit processes.  Knowledge of and experience with compliance to Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI). A certification in Configuration Management. Knowledge of and experience with compliance to ITAR. Previous experience in working to effectively roll-out Configuration Management procedures to a large user community. Experienced in the development and maintenance of web pages using HTML.  A plus if experienced in designing and developing web based applications using ASP.NET/C# and experience designing and maintaining MS SQL Server databases.Will:Be responsible for providing CM management and engineering within the DSN in a team environment.  Provide technical review and CM input to Development & Deployment Plans, DSN standards, procedures, SCD processes. Coordinate improvements to the DSN Product Data Management System, participate in the PDMS user group and provide necessary training and guidance.  Develop and maintain Configuration Management plans, policies, and processes with adherence to client processes, policies and procedures.  Will produce status reports, participate in peer reviews, and contribute to documentation for DSN CM tools and associated delivery reviews.  Will coordinate and lead documentation team in repository management.  Will support ITAR and export compliance.
