Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners Engine Centers is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager.
Position requires a high-energy, multi-functional individual to facilitate and lead the journey to Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) at the Gold level. The candidate will plan and implement continuous improvement activities based on business priorities, define and implement measures to monitor the performance of the business, and work with all levels within the organization to drive continuous improvement projects to closure. The candidate must have strong, solid knowledge and experience utilizing various methods of continuous improvement. Familiarity with the tools used in Lean Manufacturing, the Toyota Production System (TPS), Seven Wastes, One-Piece Flow, and Mixed-Model Cellular Manufacturing will be required in order to promote, educate and train employees in these concepts and tools. Strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring the Cells or workgroups meet delivery schedule, cost commitments and quality standards without comprising safety or ethics, and provide quick resolution through hands-on implementation.
Bachelors degree required in related field.
Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience implementing and driving continuous improvement methods such as principles of lean manufacturing, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) events with excellent analytical and problem solving skills (i.e. PFMEA, DIVE, Red X or Six Sigma) and strong attention to detail. An Engineering, Operations, and Quality background is strongly preferred.
The selected candidate should have strong initiative, and be a self-starter, diligent and task oriented. Must be able to hold others accountable in order for the organization to be successful. Additionally, the candidate must be a positive and motivating influence across the organization, able to build trust and supportive relationships with peers and shop floor employees. Strong communication and leadership skills are required, especially excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
