Contracts Negotiation Spclst 4 Position Description Participates as a direct, core member of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes Selling Team, providing negotiation, contracts and business expertise. Promotes, balances and manages company interests with customer needs using ingenuity, creativity and innovation. Prepare proposals and business offers using established tools and processes requiring minimal direction. Develops internal networks within the Company. Participates in the presentation of business solution proposals to customers. With guidance, identifies and evaluates business risks. Develops mitigation strategies and make decisions and/or recommendations in managing risks. With consultation as appropriate, employs business and financial acumen, processes, and techniques when representing the company to customers at all levels of management and to internal executive leadership on negotiation matters, issue and dispute resolution, performance, risk assessment and management, and delivery of company's products and services. Monitor, reconcile and ensure compliance in the performance of contractual commitments. Negotiates changes to commitments in response to changes in the business environment and customer/product requirements. Ensure compliance with business commitments, company policies, laws, and regulations. Notify customer of the delivery date along with the delivery process requirements. Processes and issues delivery, invoice documents. Supports delivery activity as required. Develops further knowledge of customers' interests, needs, culture, business context, political, economic and environmental influences. Maintain awareness of Boeing organization, process/operations and resources that support customer and commitments. Maintains awareness of the changing environment related to terms and conditions and provide feedback on lessons learned. Makes recommendations on establishing terms and conditions for new products and services. Provides technical and operational guidance to peers, other contract specialists, business units and management. [ + ] Contract Negotiation Ability to lead the negotiation of all contractual terms and conditions of complex transactions related to the sale and support of commercial aircraft, products and services. Ability to coordinate input from other internal organizations in order to formulate an offer and tender a commitment while adequately addressing all relevant business risks. Ability to balance Boeing and customer?s interests while solving large, complex issues. Ability to differentiate a customer?s true requirements from negotiating tactics, emotional issues, competing interests and cultural issues. Ability to build common ground with the external customer while dealing effectively with conflict and disagreement. [ + ] Contract Structure and Terms Extensive, specialized knowledge of contract structure and terminology related to specified work. [ + ] External Customer Focus Understands external customers? interests and needs, culture, business context, political, economic and environmental influences and considers such factors in the completion of day-to-day job tasks and responsibilities. Supports senior employees as required to sustain productive customer relationships. Uses available information to understand complex customer related circumstances, problems and needs. Considers how day-to-day actions will affect customers. Responds quickly to help senior employees meet customer needs and resolve problems. [ + ] General Financial Knowledge Extensive and specialized knowledge of financial concepts, such as, time value of money, present value, future value, internal rate of return, annuity, and amortization table development. [ + ] Risk Mgmt & Tech Ready Assess Extensive working knowledge of the methodology and processes associated with risk, opportunity, and issues management. Ability to: select/recommend the best plan for mitigating risks, realizing opportunities, and resolving issues; establish appropriate performance tracking metrics to track status over time. Ability to effectively utilize risk, opportunity, and issue management tools (iso-risk charts/plots, waterfall, etc) to support program/project execution. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree and 10 to 14 years' related work experience, a Master's degree and 8 to 12 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
