Controls Hardware Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for mechanical design and support of engine control hardware including hydro pumps and valves and pneumatic valves.  Responsible for development processes in technical area including adherence and improvement of identified processes.  Responsible for the flow of system requirements to suppliers of source controlled components through interfacing with internal and external customers.  Responsible for assisting the supplier in meeting functional, qualification, cost and schedule requirements through regular communication.  Responsible for understanding the component design, analyses, design drivers, and test results.  Responsible for maintaining schedule of RRC activities in MS Project as required.  Prepare, report, and present technical information.

Specific Required Skills:  Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering and 7 - 10 years experience.  A Masters of Science in Engineering considered a plus.  Experience with the creative design process of pneumatics or hydraulics.  Must be able to travel domestically and/or internationally.  Preferred Skills:  Experience in MS Project, DOORs, and Documentum is a plus.  Experience with DO160, DO254, and Mil-Std-810 is a plus.  Must be able to articulate clear requirements and lay out work in a well-planned and organized manner. Must be able deal with controversial issues and resolve conflicts.  Must be able to explain technically difficult concepts clearly, concisely in writing, presentations, and verbally.  Capable of building relationships with junior engineers, management, and customers.
