Cost / Price Analyst

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: #6489  Under general direction, this position is responsible for compiling and analyzing cost and/or price data to determine feasibility of making or buying products and to establish price objectives for subcontractor proposals and makes recommendations based on findings. Represents the Company and acts as a primary contact with suppliers to determine factors that affect price. Develops reports and makes presentations as required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Analyzes statistical data to establish cost/price objectives. Analyzes information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Analyzes subcontractor proposals and provides guidance to Buying personnel as to recommended negotiation positions, assists Buyer in negotiations with suppliers. Assists in the development of company proposals. Reviews purchase order/subcontract files to ensure adequacy of Buyer’s Cost/Price Analysis documentation. Provides management with cost analysis studies; Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.  Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Additional Functions  Other duties as assigned or required. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:  Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and six or more years experience in finance, accounting, or business administration in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. Must demonstrate a complete understanding of pricing and purchasing theories, concepts and principles. Must possess skills including organizing, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates. Must be customer focused and possess:  the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems; excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; the ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects; the ability to represent the company as a knowledge resource on external projects; and excellent computer skills.
