DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT ASSURANCE

COM DEV USA is actively searching for a motivated and skilled Quality professional to lead and develop our Product Assurance function.  The Director of Product Assurance will create and champion the implementation of an AS9100 compliant quality system, procedures, processes, and activities necessary to meet the demanding quality requirements of our customers.  The Director will implement and oversee a Parts, Materials and Processes Control Board (PMPCB); a configuration management system; receiving inspection and in-process inspection; quality engineering; and source surveillance activities at suppliers.  This position will also play a critical role with our customers, serving as the focal point for all customer-related quality issues and by serving as the Product Assurance Program Manager for all COM DEV USA programs.Principal Accountabilities Provide leadership and vision for the Product Assurance organization, continually driving policies, processes and procedures to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction. Develop and oversee an internal quality audit system that will support achievement of AS9100 certification. Evaluate incoming contracts for quality requirements and flow-down customer unique quality requirements internally and to approved suppliers as necessary. Actively participate in customer product acceptance reviews and document approval when complete. Successfully manage people to achieve performance goals.  This includes recruiting, selecting, training new members of the team, as well as scheduling workload, resolving conflict, coaching and developing, promoting teamwork, and performance management. Represent COM DEV USA in the quality community and stay abreast of new developments, concepts and best practices to support our continued status as a world class engineering and manufacturing organization.Position Requirements A minimum of 6 years related management experience.  Experience managing a team of product assurance professionals performing engineering evaluation, manufacturing, testing, inspecting, and configuration management activities of active and/or passive microwave products for space applications is essential. Experience as a manager working for an ISO9001 and/or AS9100 company. Proven track record of maintaining high-quality standards for organizations and implementing quality initiatives. Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills required. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers to influence the outcome of important quality initiatives. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Requires a Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in a related field, Engineering preferred. ASQ-CQM, ASQ-CQE or ASQ-CQA certifications are desired.
