Data Warehouse Developer - Entry Level

Summary:
Join the Westar team and work on a world class, enterprise quality data warehouse for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM). The Condition Based Maintenance-Data Warehouse (CBM-DW) uses the latest in database technology and concepts, and is striving for the highest quality in all aspects of project development. The CBM-DW is staffed with dedicated professionals with the goal of improving the way the U.S. Army Aviation functions.

The Entry Level Developer will use current skill set and knowledge to assist in the design and development of the CBM-DW User Access Layer – a web-based application providing end users access and analysis of information within the data warehouse.
 
Essential Duties: include, but not limited to, the following.
-Development tasks – will include JAVA development, J2EE, Javascript, and CSS
-Work within a team environment following and contributing to the overall Design Model of the Data Warehouse development efforts
-Support solution build and deployment strategies into multiple environments
-Support other CBM-DW teams as directed by the Software Development Manager
-Write and review required documentation as defined by CBM-DW processes in accordance with CMMI Level 3

Responsibilities:
-Adhere to defined software development conventions and standards
-Participate in peer reviews as an Author and/or Reviewer
-Follow configuration and change management processes defined by the Director, Enterprise Life Cycle Solutions (ELCS)
-Follow a modified Rational Unified Process (RUP) iterative process as defined by the Data Warehouse Manager
-Provide relative and accurate input into schedule and planning for the implementation of the data warehouse
-Assist in setting realistic goals for self and members of the development team for the implementation of the data warehouse.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline.

Computing Skills:
-Java development – entry level skills
-J2EE design – entry level skills
-Java Integrated Development Environments (IDE) – entry level skills
-Database software applications (Oracle, SQL Server, and MS Access) – entry level skills
-MS Office tools (MS Word, MS Excel) – good skills

Security:
-Requires a SECRET clearance in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
-Personnel will be subject to all Security regulations, rules, and policies of the Government facility.
