Demo and Events Coordinator

Visualize Your Future!  Barco is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to manage and execute events and tradeshow programs.  This person will work with the Director of Marketing Communications to develop and implement strategic and tactical tradeshows, events, and demonstrations to ensure budgets are met.  Perform research to investigate potential event facilities, entertainment, transportation, promotional materials, and other aspects related to tradeshows and special events.  Create and follow strict time lines.  Negotiate with vendors.  Support special projects.  Manage exhibit house, oversee booth design, booth properties, and maintenance.  Manage tradeshow logistics, show services, accommodations, transportation, shipping, technical services, etc.  Oversee the shipping of tradeshow materials, including exhibits, graphics, literature, displays, etc.  Plan and manage a variety of events; including sales demonstrations, customer demonstrations, sales meetings, open house events, partner events, and other events.  Some lifting and technical assembly.  Travel required, including international.  Must be U.S. citizen.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising or a related field.  Associates degree will be considered.  Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline with marketing or sales background a plus.  Must have mechanical and electrical competencies.  Experience with Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Exceptional project management and multi-tasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.  Must be deadline conscious with the ability to plan many months in advance.  Ability to work independently or on a team.  Projection and display system setup/installation, operation, and troubleshooting competencies, as well as software programming skills a plus.  Minimum of 3-5 years experience with meeting planning and tradeshow logistics.  Experience managing a minimum of 20-30 events per year a plus.
