The following opportunity exist at our Kennedy Space Center, FL location:
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (ABET) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical Engineering fields plus 2-4 years of position related experience, plus familiarity with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and Software Quality Assurance background. Candidate must be well organized, able to properly prioritize complex schedules, possess good planning skills, and have strong decision-making, negotiating, and integration skills. Individual must also be highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with technical disciplines of all levels. Candidate should possess excellent people skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced work environment. Candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with single based PC control to multi-work station main frame systems, Micro Vax, VMS operating systems, ATLAS, PLC software, RS View, Panel View, and Lab View software would be a plus.
Position Key Requirements: Provide oversight and technical input into software development and change process for SRBE software systems used in processing Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) and Crew Launch Vehicle (CLV) hardware. Facilitate the CMMI process as it relates to SRB/CLV software and systems. Participate in the validation and verification for all software to ensure all technical and procedural requirements are being met in the following areas: TPS application and removal, automated check-out testing, cable testing, and vibration testing and non-destructive evaluation. Provide Quality Engineering support for the Forward and Aft ACO testing and related support equipment. Perform regular audits on SRBE software systems to ensure compliance with procedures. Responsible for reviewing work authorization documentation and Problem Reports, including MRB approvals
