Desktop/Help Desk Support Technician

Description:  Immediate need for a Sr. Helpdesk / Desktop Consultant for a 6-12 month contract assignment in the Pasadena/Altadena are. The candidate will be functioning as the first point of contact for our customers.   Responsibilities: - Log all incoming requests into the call racking system. - Resolve a broad range of technical problems in support of customer computer hardware, software, and network. - Diagnose, identifies, isolates and analyzes problems utilizing historical data base records. Installs and configures software. - Alert management to recurring problems and patterns of problems. - Set up and tests a variety of systems and hardware components/peripherals prior to field deployment and provides computer repair and test capability for all company departments.- Analyze failed systems according to established standard operating procedures. - Perform repairs and tests of systems that can be repaired in-house. - Perform preventive and on-demand maintenance on a variety of systems. - Be responsible for ensuring customers’ computer problems are resolved. May escalate problems to other service groups. - Maintain and updates records and tracking databases. - Participate as a member on project teams performing a variety of computer related activities. - Participates in idea sharing and problem resolution. - Provide support outside of regular duties as needed.   Educational and Personal Requirements: - High School diploma, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and 2 years of experience. - Current Microsoft certification (MCP) or Apple, or related industry certification. - Strong dedication to customer service and superior telephone skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Be a team player. - Follow the procedure. - Be adaptable to changes.   Experience: - Good knowledge of the job. - Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a limited understanding of the technical phases of the job. - Proficiency with network protocols. - Minimum one year of field work. - Proficiency in PC or MAC Operating Systems. - Proficiency in at least two applications of Microsoft Office.
