Development Lead

We are currently seeking a Project Development Lead to join us in support of our work with Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV)/Orion. The Project Development Lead is principal project developer, responsible for the development and delivery of all software applications with the CEV Information Management Database (CIMD) system. The Development Lead is responsible for the entire life cycle of development activities from requirements gathering to testing/verification to production. Additional responsibilities are identified below.
Key duties and responsibilities of this position include:Developing solution code. Developing strategies and practices for development and build tool use in the SDL process. Day-to-day customization, configuration, integration, implementation, and operations activities associated with one or more deliverables. Making key technical decisions and recommendations around software architecture, identifying and documenting the architecturally significant parts of requirements, design, implementation, and deployment models. Reducing technical risks, justification for decisions, and for ensuring decisions are adhered to. Data model design, user interface, hardware, and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf customization philosophy. Reporting status of design to the CIMD Project Manager as requested. Provide technical engineering expertise and experience in the design and development and/or integration of flight support software database systems. Develops CIMD portal framework and applications; designs, develops, and tests the portal and applications base don end-user requirements. Support the Project Test and Verification of assigned system element interface Support system analyses and tests, and provide technical reports, presentations, and engineering data to management as required Delivery and utilization of products to Configuration Management Support Project Technical Meetings and Reviews
Minimum Required Skills & Education:Bachelor's Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science Seven-to-Ten years experience in project IT, data management and networking systems, requirements development, and data acquisition/processing concepts is required. Experience in developing and using CMM/CMMI-based software development processes. Familiarity with all phases of software development life cycle. Must be able to work with customer peers to communicate project software process objectives and status. Ability to work and succeed in a virtual team environment, work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels from aides to upper management. Ability to lead and guide project technical support staff. Excellent communicative and cooperative management skills are required. Programming skills required: Cold Fusion, JAVA, Javascript, JSP, XML, XSLT, HTML, .Net, C++, SQL, SQLPlus, PL-SQL, Visual Basic Networks: Solaris, Windows, Unix Applications: MS Office, MS Project, MS Access, Oracle, Operating Environments: Windows, Solaris, Linux, Mac OS Hardware: PC’s, Sun Solaris
Desired Skills & Experience:Master's of Science/Engineering in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering Additional programming skills desired: JSP, J2EE, XSLT, AC, Perl, Tcl/Tk Related aerospace systems (flight support/ground) experience highly desirable Test and Verification background in space or aero environment
