Job Category: Administrative/Clerical Job Requisition Number: Q10978 The Director of Environmental, Safety, and Health will provide strategic ESH guidance to the Customer Solutions Operating Group and be responsible for developing and implementing an OG level ESH strategy to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident free work environment. The Director of ES&H will work with the LOBs as appropriate to develop policy, procedures and programs to promote continuous improvement of ESH across the OG enterprise. The Director of ESH will report to the President of the Customer Solutions Operating Group with close integration and connectivity to the HR and legal functions and alignment with the SHE function at BAE Systems Inc. to insure consistency of strategy and objectives where appropriate. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Integrate as appropriate strategic planning and execution of ESH programs as required to comply with corporate policies and procedures, federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules. Develop OG policies, standards and procedures as appropriate to insure consistent effective approaches to ESH issues, aligned with Inc and Plc. With the implementation of the Safety Maturity Matrix make sure that the operating group is in full compliance with the standards, measurements and timeliness for reaching the various levels of maturity. Insure that a continuous level of improvement is maintained throughout the operating group. Ensures appropriate standardization of OG-wide ESH best practices from across all of BAE Systems. Assists Plc, Inc, OG and the lines of business (LOBs) with understanding ESH regulations and standards, including guidance on handling ESH compliance, inspections, certifications and audits. Assist in the planning development and implementation of comprehensive programs to train leadership and employees regarding ESH practices. Participate in the BAE Systems Inc. ESH Council to drive the sharing of best practices and the collaboration within the ESH community. Insure the timely reporting of ESH metrics within the ESH Performance Excellence and Mission Success frameworks. Collaborate with industry ESH organizations and regulatory agencies. Support ESH aspects of due diligence, integration and real estate transactions as required for Inc and the Customer Solutions Operating Group. Report to and advise the OG leadership team on ESH performance, identifying key issues and areas identified for improvement. Work with OG and LOB management to integrate and embed ESH aspects in all appropriate levels and processes of the organization. Work with legal on preventative, enforcement action. Attend safety reviews and audits. Must Have the Following: United States Citizenship Educational: Bachelor's Degree, Environmental Studies, Safety or related a must - Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience.Prefer to Have the Following: Educational: Master's Degree preferred. More than 10+ years experience preferred. Functional: Successful candidate will have strong safety, environment (in order of priority). Requires use of conceptual and innovative thinking (i.e., identifying solutions). Skilled communicator who can influence the broad enterprise at senior levels of the organization.
