Director, Government Sales
QinetiQ North America is looking for a seasoned, experienced leader with strong military aviation sales, operational, and technical background characterized as one who can readily assimilate new technologies and ideas and create a vision for a high performance, team-based organization, now and in the future. The candidate must also be an individual able to focus efforts on strategic goals, while satisfying the tactical needs of the organization.
Requires a Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of US DoD aviation product, or flight experience. The candidate must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills and have the proven ability to cultivate large strategic sales in a multi-faceted DoD sales channel, including the proven ability to lead, manage and direct multiple, significant, simultaneous sales programs.
Must also have the ability to educate potential customers on applications for, and the use of, leading edge FOQA and flight debrief products, along with an established network of contacts within the US military including Special Operations Forces (US Army, USAF and USMC is preferred)
Broad based technical and business knowledge of the defense industry including program and process management and cutting-edge technology initiatives with a strong preference in the areas of flight simulators (including TOFTs, WSTs, TSTs, BOWSTs), MFOQA, flight operations (i.e., NATOPS), debrief / after-action-review.
Candidate should be able to generate business opportunities for QinetiQ North America in the Government sector - DoD, NASA, Homeland Security, USA, USAF, USN, USMC, USCG, other military and intelligence agencies, commercial vendors named to military contracts as well as Government prime contractors.
Participate in target market trade shows and industry events in order to develop leads and opportunities, develop presentations and product demonstrations for use in trade shows and customer briefings.
Frequently travel to Government and contractor sites. Educate potential customer community and influence technical requirements around company products.
Prepare, oversee and coordinate proposals and responses to Government and Government contractor requests, solicitations and identified opportunities.
Provide input to the management team on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs. Recommend product pricing strategies.
Assist engineering in testing new product releases prior to customer delivery.
