Director of Planning & Engineering, Aerospace

 

A growing, mid-western based aerospace supplier is seeking candidates to lead the company’s engineering and planning functions.  In this role, the candidate will be responsible for parts planning, programming, scheduling and assessment of technical solutions for a variety of 3, 4 & 5 Axis vertical and horizontal milling centers.  This role is considered part of the leadership function and works closely with a variety of other functional areas including production, quality, finance, etc…

 

Primary Responsibilities Include: Prioritizing jobs and managing the planning, programming and scheduling functions to ensure 100% on-time delivery of product Planning operational sequences to build aerospace parts Estimation of labor, raw material and assembly components to be consumed in production of new parts Optimizing processes to create most efficient & profitable delivery of product Assigning staff to projects and programs, manage conflicting program priorities and resource constraints. Monitoring and guiding programs activities, processes and technical content, cost, and schedule. Review and approve technical content and cost estimates for capital equipment proposals. Provide development and Training opportunities for Engineering Staff

 

Requirements: Experience managing complex technical development efforts Experience with military and aerospace standards Knowledge and experience of the design and development process including interaction with programming personnel, qualification processes, quality function interaction, and manufacturing processes and staff Good knowledge of Catia V5 software package Strong knowledge of CNC milling equipment Strong knowledge of metals and fabrication processes used in aerospace industry

 

Experience Req’d 10+ years in engineering 10+ years in aerospace manufacturing 5+ years in planning and quoting or estimating 3+ years managing technical staff US Citizen or Permanent Resident Competent in delivering on-time, on-budget development programs Skilled in setting and adjusting engineering resource priorities
