Company:Multi-billion diversified manufacturer that designs high-density and reliable electronics for aerospace, space, military, medical, industrial, and commercial applications.
Business Unit:Power Supply Systems ($175 million) that designs and manufactures custom, semi-custom and COTS products such as DC/DC converters and EMI filters. This business owns 40% of the market and is the industry leader in military and space.
Reporting Structure: Vice President,whom reports to the President
Scope and Responsibilities:
***Primary focus of this position is to provide leadership and management to the engineering organization for company-wide product development and sustaining programs and activities that increase market share. ***Evaluate, develop and grow the team to ensure world-class engineering talent and leadership. Drive NPI and direct product enhancement initiatives. Review, modify and establish engineering methodology and processes. Create and foster an environment conducive to innovation, high productivity and high quality. Ability to quickly earn the respect of your team and peers. Build effective, long term relationships with clients. Earn their confidence while playing an integral role in winning large outsourced contracts. Develop improved techniques for control of design activities. Collaborate across functions and organizations with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Plan and manage the deployment of resources for multiple projects and programs. Develop budget and resource allocation plans in support of product and technical roadmaps.
Professional Background:
***15+ years electronics product design and manufacturing, specifically power supply systems, standards and practices. Board mounted power is preferred. ***Must have at least five years in a senior engineering management role over a large organization (100+ minimum). Proven track record of hiring and developing a high performance engineering organization utilizing a Topgrading or similar management philosophy. Virtual leadership. Ability to direct a geographically dispersed engineering design staff located in three states. Proven track record of NPI and innovation within the military and space industries is ideal. True understanding that quality is embedded into the product development process. Financial discipline, budgeting, planning and resource utilization skills. Problem solver capable of anticipating issues and aggressively resolving them.
