Our team’s success is measured by achieving market release schedules on-time, producing reliable products and solutions and meeting financial targets set forth in the concept stage. You are a skilled decision-maker on business decisions that involve both ROI analysis and resource management. Managing a mobile product engineering organization is your strength, but you are equally comfortable dealing with broader business issues including strategic planning, operations, services, warranty and other factors that make the difference between leading and following in a highly competitive market environment. In this role you will take on a range of challenges that will include:• Reporting directly to the BU Director, you will be a key executive in the management team, collaborating with other executives on winning corporate strategies, leading internal employees, and being a part of key management trade-off decisions.• Managing, developing and leading a large team of over 80 resources in multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, reliability/quality, industrial design, program management and more) and across geographies of North America and Asia. • Developing an innovation group of technologists to build a pipeline of new technology concepts to insert into products for go-to-market advantages and to raise the industry bar.• Managing all engineering projects, both new, legacy, and specials in a predictable model that meets customer and company expectations and aligns with the engineering budget you manage.• Managing, planning, and forecasting a multi-million dollar engineering budget that covers new product start-ups, legacy enhancements, specials, and innovation.• Overseeing collaborative projects within General Dynamics C4S and collaborating with other engineering organizations inside of General Dynamics C4S to gain additional technology expertise in areas outside your entity’s capacity.• You will be counted on to provide “original thoughts” thinking, looking for alternative business models and new engineering strategies to initiate new business model acceleration for the business entity. Education and Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, technical field, or equivalent experience. (Graduate level degree in an engineering discipline a plus• MBA degree highly desired.• 10+ years experience in engineering (product development and qualification testing) field.o Emphasis on environmental qualification, ruggedization and radio/RF carrier certification• Experience managing teams larger than 50 people.• Experience working and reporting to executive levels. • Flair for innovative business solutions and “original thoughts” business vision.• Skills include negotiation, communication, ability to influence others, risk taker, problem solver, and strong financial acumen.• Ability to motivate small company energy and alacrity within the framework of a larger corporationMust be able to travel 20% of the time.
