Director of Software Engineering

 

A leading systems engineering and integration firm in Northern Virginia has an opportunity available for an experienced senior-level software engineering professional to lead software engineering efforts in support of multiple federal government contracts. 

 

Position responsibilities will include:

 

·  Responsible for overall management of software engineering efforts to include:

requirements analysis, architecture, design, development and delivery.

·  Organizes, directs, and coordinates planning and production of all software engineering support activities. 

·  Meets with appropriate Corporate/Client/Government management personnel, other contractor managers, and client agency representatives. 

·  Responsible for ensuring coordination between personnel below him or her and all central management functions within the organization.

·  Assigns, schedules, and reviews work of subordinates. Responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of personnel supporting the program.

 

Interested candidates should have a minimum of 10+ years of software engineering, business, program, and personnel management experience, to include government contracting.  Experience should include software development skills with high level compiled languages (i.e. C, C++, Java), the setup and configuration of hardware and software test environments (to include the use of Rational test tools), and knowledge of Quality Assurance methodology, process improvement, and best practices.  Prior experience managing software development efforts on DoD projects is preferred.  A Bachelor's degree (or a Master’s degree with 8 years of experience) from an accredited college or university in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a mathematics-intensive discipline is required. 

 

Candidates should be able to travel as necessary (up to a maximum of 50%).
