EH&S Generalist

Utilizing the ACE tools of continuous improvement, position is responsible for successful management and execution of Pratt & Whitney Georgia Site environmental, health and safety programs & permits. Leadership for the implementation of the UTC/PW EH&S management systems.

Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with management to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance as mandated by federal, state and local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and UTC EH&S Standard Practices.
-Provide leadership and guidance for the management team and the EH&S council members to cohesively manage the site with a comprehensive program. Ability to develop partnerships across functions/organizations to provide actionable improvement plans/programs.
-Support the development of EH&S action plans to achieve the EH&S policy of having a hazard-free workplace, injury-free employees and an unmatched commitment to compliance and pollution prevention.
-Drive action plans to meet or exceed corporate goals.
-Act as the primary EH&S technical resource for the Site and for the Facilities and Services organization.
-Provide support to EH&S professionals in the tenant business units and manage Tier III audits, ISO 14001, VPP, and all other EH&S external recognition programs.
-Responsible for improving EH&S customer service and employee fulfillment and leading continuous improvement efforts in the EH&S site operations.
-Understand and proactively follow through on the management systems that have been identified as relevant to position.
-Actively work as part of the Site and F&S team to ensure that best practices and standard work are relentlessly driven across the organization.
-Establish and maintain document records and administer document control for the Site.





BS in technical field related to EH&S with a minimum of 10 years experience or MS in a technical field related to EH&S with a minimum of 8 years experience.



Ten years in EH&S. Very strong emphasis in Environmental Health & Safety knowledge and experience required, a plus if within a manufacturing environment. Experience with industrial waste water treatment a plus.

Must be able to demonstrate skill and experience in regulatory compliance, EH&S program development and air, water, waste permitting.

Proficient with all commonly used PW and EH&S software systems.



Very strong communication, strategic leadership, technical and interpersonal skills required. Must be very comfortable working as a team leader to meet highly aggressive goals. EH&S Regulatory knowledge necessary. Very limited travel.

Highly motivated and self directed with strong influencing skills and the ability to lead change.
