EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ENGINEERING

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: MSEE Plus 7-10 years of Engineering Management with strong Electrical Engineering skills. Broad knowledge of advanced and technically or professionally specialized fields such as program management, electrical, mechanical engineering, solid technical leadership skills and ability to influence and drive change.  Fluent verbal and written skills with ability to present/communicate at all levels within the company, including company executives. 

Under the administrative direction of the Fuzing Division President, lead the engineering function to include electrical/mechanical design, test, research & development, document control and configuration management for Fuzing, Measuring & Memory Systems locations in Middletown, CT and Orlando, FL and establish a standard of engineering excellence.  Provide the education, training and environment that enables staff to be successful change agents and role models of total quality and lean principles.  Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Provide leadership that supports healthy communications and working environment between all engineering discipline and customers along with good practices regarding compliance to the company’s business conduct requirements.  Delegate work assignments, provide effective coaching and technical guidance of directs, and communicate as necessary with all levels of management, customers and subcontractors. Champion a team environment amongst different disciplines in order to meet project goals.  Develop, organize and lead a capabilities based engineering organization with the responsibility to provide solutions and services to the division.  Select, train, retain, appraise and reward the engineering workforce.

 

Through subordinate supervisors, direct engineering activities to design, manufacture and test components, products and systems.  Establish and conduct project reviews, both internal and with customers. 

 

Participate in defining the strategic direction of the division and technology roadmap in support of the division business objectives and strategies.  Plan and manage budgets and identify capital needs for effective operations.  Develop department(s) goals and objectives that align with those of the division.  Drive complex engineering projects to successful completion in a timely manner. 

 

Manage and direct program management team in all phases of the various programs from inception to completion, including the execution of departmental plans and schedules to assure milestones are accomplished.

 

Through subordinate supervision, plan, formulate, recommend and direct research & development activities for new/existing products and services.  Develop strategies for acquiring new technology and improving existing technologies that complement the overall business.

 

Direct the preparation of technical proposals and collaborate and partner with Business Development in the development of new business opportunities and IR&D process.

 

Establish and maintain effective internal/external communication to facilitate problem identification and resolution.  Must be available to travel, domestic and foreign, as required and have ability to obtain/maintain clearance.
