Job Description
Athena Technologies, Inc. is the premier developer and producer of dynamics, flight control systems, and navigation solutions, specializing in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs).
Position: Electronics Technician
Qualifications:
Versatile and experienced electronics technician to provide hardware and engineering support in an aerospace R&D environment.
Specific Responsibilities:Fabricate electronic assemblies, printed wiring boards and cable assemblies including soldering, surface mount, and crimping Modify electronic circuits and assemblies from interpretation of verbal interpretation of verbal instructions, design documents, and/or schematics Assist with and perform validation testing, circuit testing, and debugging of circuit boards using applicable equipment and tools Interface with and provide support to engineering staff to ensure circuits and assemblies are fabricated and/or modified per plan requirements and in accordance with standards Assist with the calibration and qualification of systems in accordance with standards Assist with maintaining the lab, inventory systems, and related documentation Assist with shipping and receiving process, specifically hardware delivery and receipts
Minimum Requirements:
AS degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or equivalent combination of technical training and work experience.
Minimum three years experience as an electronics technician in an R & D environment; design work experience desired.
Demonstrated working knowledge of basic circuit theory, testing, and circuit boards with excellent soldering and wiring skills. Familiarity with IPC Class 2 and Class 3 a plus. Ability to work from engineering prototype schematics and production documentation with limited supervision. Demonstrated experience with related fabrication and testing tools.

Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance may be required for certain projects or programs.
US Citizenship/Permanent Resident Status is required for ITAR/EAA controlled projects or programs.
Measures of Performance:Fabricate electronic assemblies, printed wiring boards and cable assemblies including soldering, surface mount, and crimping in accordance with SMT standards and zero rework or failures Modify electronic circuits and assemblies from interpretation of verbal instructions, design documents, and/or schematics in accordance with and adhering to close tolerances and quality specifications Perform validation testing, circuit testing, and debugging of circuit boards using applicable equipment and tools resulting in zero failures and within established project schedules Assist with the calibration and qualification of systems according to quality specifications, meeting testing schedules and deadlines Assist with maintaining the lab, inventory systems, and related documentation to eliminate lost or unnecessary tools, hardware, equipment and supplies Assist with shipping and receiving process, specifically hardware delivery and receipts, to ensure defective parts are not sent to production or delivered to clients
Qualifications
Associate's degree in appropriate discipline, or in the absence of an associate's degree, three years of related experience.
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required.
