The company designs and builds armored vehicles and subsystems for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and international customers, and is the defense industry's largest supplier of armored military vehicles.Description of Work: Develop supportability and maintainability requirement inputs for design specifications, trade studies and tradeoff analyses.Assess emerging design for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability.Identify materials available in customer inventory that may serve as an alternative to new design.Assess and document the design in terms of supportability and maintainability details to quantify and demonstrate that requirements have been achieved.Develop Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals for ILS areas of responsibility in the technical data packages.Perform analyses & computer modeling to support "repair/retrofit verses discard" & repair level decisions and to develop/assess alternate support/maintenance concepts.Translate engineering & other technical information into source data for the ILS material developers. Support the developers in data use.Investigate customer inquiries and provide responses and materials. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; BS in Engineering, Mathematics or Technology preferred. Actual hands on work experience with ground combat vehicles may be considered in lieu of degree. Hands on experience in maintenance and support of complex systems in a military environment is required.Familiar with US Army logistics support structure, policies and procedures.Personal computer skills required (must be competent with MS Office applications).Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills desired.Occasional work in prototype shop and field test environment required.Must meet and pass ASR requirements.Occasional short-term travel required.Occasional weekday and/or weekend overtime required.Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
