Engineer I - Structural/Thermal Analyst

 

The Engineer I - Structural/Thermal Analyst will perform varied/multiple technical assignments mainly in the area of structural and thermal analysis. He/she will solve clearly defined problems that are limited to assignment work area, use of new techniques is often required in problem solutions and evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity in applying technical solutions. The Engineer I Structural/Thermal Analyst will apply and/or develop advanced technologies and assist in and become involved with improving technical processes and products in own work group. Candidate must have broad engineering skills and abilities and/or has an area of special expertise.Candidate must have concentrated experience and interest in structural and thermal analysis. Candidate must have a clear understanding of engineering process. Understands processes and products in multiple areas.Candidate should also be able to: Solve clearly defined problems that are limited to assignment work area. Utilize new techniques often required in problem solutions. Evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices. Position requires good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels. A positive, can-do attitude is required. Must work well as a member of a team. Must adapt well to a changing environment.

Position is located in  Glendale, AZ.

Basic Qualifications:Due to government security clearance requirements, candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident to be eligible for hire. Candidate must be willing and able to receive a security clearance.Candidate must have aBachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline. An appropriate MS degree may be substituted for experienceCandidate must have 0 to 5 years of experience in the area of structural and thermal analysis.

Additional Qualifications:PE or EIT certification will be considered, but not required. Aerospace experience not required. Able and willing to travel. The preferred candidate will demonstrate interest & strengths in the following areas:Stuctural Analysis - Static Analysis - Dynamic Analysis - Modal Analysis - Random Vibration Analysis - Non-linear analysis - Bolted Joint analysis - Classical analysisThermal analysis - Steady State - Transient - Conduction - Radiation - View Factor calculation - Orbital analysis - Heat load - Classical analysisExperience with the following tools is desired: - NASTRAN - SINDA/G - IDEAS solver - TMG - TRASYS
