Engineer Program Manager
Syracuse Research Corporation has developed a family of innovative systems that protect our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs). Experienced Engineering Program Managers are needed to enhance our existing product line, and lead the development of next generation Counter-RCIED Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems and technologies. The Engineering Program Manager (EPM) will be responsible for leading design teams from early conceptual design through detail design, integration, and test for advanced radar and communications systems. Responsibilities also include generating, tracking, and meeting program cost and schedule commitments; providing daily direction - both technical and programmatic - to a multi-disciplined team consisting of software, RF, digital, systems, and mechanical engineers as well as other support personnel; and interfacing with customers, leading design reviews and program reviews, assessing technical progress and tradeoffs, as well as developing future business opportunities. At SRC, the EPM provides significant technical contributions to the program as well as managing the program. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science is required, master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years hands-on design experience in the development of radar, communications systems, or other sensor systems. Must be a proven technical team leader with two or more years project lead experience. Must have strong technical skills in a core area (systems, software, RF, or digital design) coupled with experience designing complex HW/SW systems, preferably radar or communications systems for U.S. Military. Program management experience is a plus. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, informal environment.Security Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
