Job Description: Members of the Missile Defense System Engineering Team (MDSET) develop the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Integration Strategy for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position supports the agency’s Counter-Counter Measures (CCM) group. Staff position reporting directly to the CCM Team Lead. The position requires the ability to plan, organize, control and execute and provide engineering oversight of the Discrimination Engineering activities. Applicant will serve as senior technical advisor for the team. Must have extensive experience in missile defense programs from system through component levels. Will ensure continuity/consistency within DEEC for all activities. Responsibilities include: Provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure consistent quality and technical content of products, Chair CCM Internal Reviews, Initial Reviews—ensure study leads capture customer needs and he/she has a viable activity plan, Intermediate Reports—review and drive technical content and progress, Final Briefings—ensure the product answers the needed questions and conveys a clear message, Ensure CCM products reflect current MDA direction, Lead selected activities, Work with MDNTS Chief Engineer Basic Qualifications: Project Management, Team Leadership, Engineering background, self-starter, demonstrated interpersonal communications skills, able to work with minimal supervision, ability to multi-task. Strong technical background in software program development, familiarity in RADAR and Infrared (IR) sensor technology. Experience with the development of analytical tools including numerical modeling of complex systems. Experience in communications technology and command and control systems Desired Qualifications: 7+ years working weapons development programs or systems of systems programs with significant weapons components as a Program/Project Lead. Solid understanding of Systems Engineering process and disciplines a must. Technical background in software development technologies or programs a must. Successful candidate must have the ability to communicate well, and to create technical briefings for senior level decision makers. Required Education (including Major): BS with MS (optional) in the applicable Engineering Sciences.
