Raytheon Network Centric Systems (NCS), headquartered in McKinney, Texas, develops and produces mission solutions for networking, command and control, battlespace awareness, and air traffic management. This effort unites the core strengths of the company to provide networked systems, net-enabled systems, and net-centric integration to customers worldwide for emerging requirements. NCS engineering in Fullerton requires a senior communications technology leader to guide highly advanced research and product developments in support of ICS business. The individual should possess a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with a communications specialty a minimum of twelve years of related experience and is preferred to have recent telecommunications industry experience. The desired individual is expected to be a technology leader. He/she should have a thorough understanding of technologies associated with communications including analog and digital signal processing, software defined radios, coding theory and communications system performance estimation. The desired individual should have a through understanding of the current state-of-the-art principles in radio design, radio software design, advanced communications protocols and extensive understanding of link management. He/she should be completely comfortable performing complex technical analyses of system behavior, propagation effects, algorithm performance and system simulations. His/her expertise should be demonstrated by a portfolio of patents and publications. In addition to technology leadership, the desired individual should have a demonstrated capability of transitioning technology into products. The individual must have a proven record of introducing advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts into products and systems. His/her proficiency should be demonstrated by a track record of successful programs and product developments. The desired individual should also be a team builder and leader. He/she should have a demonstrated capability of leading and working with a team in a variety of tasks ranging from performing detailed analyses to developing a component, product or system. In addition, the individual should exhibit excellent writing and speaking skills. The individual will be expected to represent ICS in highly technical DoD and industry forums. He/she will be expected to describe the nature of technical tradeoffs, explain detailed technical analyses and justify decisions made. He/she will be expected to represent ICS at symposia, conferences, workgroups and standards making bodies as needed. This will require that the individual respect industry colleagues while commanding respect and exhibiting technical authority. NCS - Fullerton engineering does not currently have a technical leader significantly meeting all of these criteria in the Communications business that NCS is pursuing. Required Skills: 12 (twelve) years of related experience and is preferred to have recent telecommunications industry experience.
